gloomy
A dim, night-vision-friendly screen light with swipe controls
Android · v1.1 · mority
About gloomy
gloomy turns the whole screen into a single, very dim color. It is meant for finding your way in
the dark without disturbing your night vision or raising your vigilance, e.g., checking on a
sleeping child without blinding yourself or anyone else, or getting a glass of water at night.
Controls
Swipe up or down, or use the volume keys, to make the light brighter or dimmer.
Swipe left or right to move continuously from red through amber and
yellow to white.
Features
Red by default, which preserves night vision best.
Goes dimmer than the phone's lowest brightness setting by also dimming the
color itself.
Keeps the screen on and hides the status and navigation bars while open.
Quick settings tile that opens gloomy straight from the lock screen, without
unlocking the phone.

Changes the screen brightness only while gloomy is open.
